The Young
Global Leaders (YGL) community of the World Economic Forum has worked hard to
come up with concrete ideas and initiatives that are needed to improve the
state of the world. Last spring we were challenged by Professor Klaus Schwab to
put forward proposals that could be part of the Global Redesign Initiative. The
steering group has been working hard together with the leaders of each idea to
create momentum and keep the timetable towards the annual meeting at Davos.

Today we are proud to officially launch our website, Redesign Our World where you can brows ideas and enddorse the ones you support through your Twitter
account. Some are new ideas that are yet to be implemented such as Right to
Public Info, Promoting
Democratic Values, Restoring Ocean Health, Sustainable Cities, Scaling up the
Water Challenge, Reinventing Human Healthcare, “Missing Middle” fund and Global
Curriculum on Conflict Management. Other ideas are new but have already partly
been implemented such as Learn Money, Youth Task Force, New Leadership, Global
Oath and Millennium Development Goals: A Peoples Plan for Action. Some ideas
have come out of the YGL community a few years back. They have been implemented
but need scaling. Examples of these are Deworm the World, Global Dignity and
Table for Two.

We also urge you to submit your own idea on
our site.

We want to hear your
thoughts on how to improve our work and how you can contribute to it.

I would
especially like to thank the steering group who have all worked hard to support
and promote the ideas. In particular Josh Spear who has managed to put together
the website. I would also like to thank David Aikman, Senior Director at the
Forum and Head of the YGL secretariat. Without his tireless efforts we would
not have been able to rise to the occasion as a community and deliver these
proposals today.

Happy idea
hunting,
