We call on world leaders gathered in Copenhagen to agree a bold new deal to curb global warming and generate low carbon growth: a binding agreement to radically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, set targets, timelines and commitments, develop low carbon growth plans, provide assistance to the developing world, and agree immediate quick start actions.

The World Economic Forum Summit on the Global Agenda brings together over 700 experts from around the world covering a wide range of global challenges. We recognise that climate change puts our very society at risk and threatens the progress we are making around the world on many other areas. This is about each and every one of us.

The costs of inaction are too grave to risk. With your leadership we can tackle climate change and build a more energy secure, prosperous, sustainable world. We have much of the technology and we know the right action will benefit our economies and stimulate growth and innovation.

Copenhagen represents a test of leadership that you must not fail. We owe this to present and future generations. We therefore urge you to secure a comprehensive deal in Copenhagen and to translate this into action during 2010 and beyond.
