Holistic Approach Needed For Global Recovery

The World Economic Forum's "Summer Davos" in Asia comes at an opportune moment with many observers seeing the first shoots of recovery from the economic crisis.

Lee Howell, who is in charge of the programme for the "Summer Davos" – the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian in September, says dynamic entrepreneurs such as Global Growth Companies will have an important role to play especially in Asia.

The programme underlines the need for a holistic approach to recovery which will include finding new business models to cope with debt and taking into account the need to find sustainable solutions to climate change and other green issues. Watch the interview with Lee here.

If one looks out of the box, the world economy can be better off if, rather than helping private & greedy banks to survive, the bankers are sent to farming and agricultural sector, grow more food grains and use it address hunger in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Also, if the arms & amunition industry is closed down and amounts are invested in educating and empowering Asia and Africa, there will be more development in the world. No jokes, I reckon GDP is not Gross Domestic Product but it is General Development of People. That will be the real Economic Glory.

I’m not sure holistic approach is the way to make things change faster.
I believe in business simulations and management simulations for recovery.
