The Davos Debates in the Middle East

Davos Debates in the Middle East on YouTube to coincide with its annual World Economic Forum on the Middle East, to be held at the Dead Sea in Jordan on 15-17 May. The Davos Debates (http://youtube.com/davos) is a video channel on YouTube dedicated to public debate and discussion with global leaders about the key issues affecting our planet.

The Forum invites YouTubers to share their thoughts on the need for role models in the Middle East. The videos should answer the following question: What are the important qualities a business person, scientist or teenager needs to develop to help shape the future of the Middle East? YouTubers can also vote in a poll on whether role models are important for the future of the region.

The videos submitted by the YouTube community will become part of the discussions in a special "Role Model Series" in the programme of the meeting. In the convention centre at the Dead Sea, a dedicated video corner will allow the 1,200 registered leaders to reply directly to the videos submitted by the YouTube community.

Launched at the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum 2008 in Davos the video debates give YouTubers the unique opportunity to directly address the world leaders attending the meetings of the World Economic Forum – be it in Davos, the Middle East, Africa or China.
