Le Web 3
By: Samantha Tonkin
I’m at the most fascinating conference in Paris about the future of the web. It’s called Le Web 3 and discussions are focused around the new age of the internet with a slant on how Europe can play a bigger role in shaping the future.
The conference is the baby of French entrepreneur, Loic Le Meur, who helped pioneer this very blog at the World Economic Forum. An energetic blogger with a passion for the web, Loic amazingly organized this conference with 1,000 participants in the space of 10 weeks, without sending a single invitation or any marketing. It was all done through the web… by word of mouth. I’m here with my colleague, Matthias Lüfkens, and we’re just loving the vibe: there’s loads of energy, fresh ideas and tonnes of new projects coming out of the two-day event thanks to impromptu tie ups between IT companies, start ups, business angels, the media etc. It’s really amazing – check out the programme here and follow the discussions online.
